Road closed after it MELTS in North Wales summer heatwave

Temperatures have got so hot in North Wales that a road had to be closed by police because it was melting.
As the region bakes in temperatures above 30 degrees, the police have had to close the A543 between Pentrefoelas and the Sportsman’s Arms on the Conwy-Denbighshire border, as the road has become too “sticky” for traffic to use.
Council workers were on the road this afternoon attempting to deal with the melting surface.
On Twitter, a police spokesman said: “The A543 between Pentrefoelas and the Sportsman’s Arms is currently closed due to adverse road conditions.
